西南大学药学院副院长。国家药监局麻醉精神药品质量监测重点实验室副主任，第五轮中药学学科评估专家，中国农技协重庆科技小院首席专家，国家自然科学基金委通讯评审专家。主要从事天然药物化学和中药化学领域的相关研究。2012年和2018年分别在美国华盛顿大学和美国伊利诺伊州立大学做访问学者。主持国家自然科学基金面上与青年项目、国家重点研发项目子课题、重庆市科技局、市卫健委等国家和省部级课题20余项；主持横向课题30余项。从2021年至今，围绕新药注册申报开展工作：(1)1.1中药创新药鱼酱排毒颗粒；(2)改良型新药小儿西替利嗪滴剂；(3)润肺止咳桑白皮汤院内制剂的申报。截至目前，累计获得科研经费上千万元。现已授权国家发明专利6项（其中澳大利亚专利1项），申请授理20项；主持参与制定地方标准7项 。先后荣获重庆市科技进步一等奖、重庆市技术发明二等奖、市卫健委中医药科技成果奖、市产学研合作促进会创新成果一等奖、市教学成果奖。另外，作为副主编编著普通高等医药院校“十三五”规划教材（药学类）《物理化学》。在J Med Chem, Carbohydr Ploym, Phytomedicine, J Agric Food Chem, Bioorg Chem, 药学学报等刊物发表论文40多篇。
