Southwest University (SWU) provides 15 full-funded Chinese Government Scholarship for the graduate students from one road and one belt countries’ universities, to be enrolled in the “Doctoral Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences”.
The scholarship covers tuition, laboratory experiment, internship, accommodation on campus, Comprehensive Medical Insurance, and CNY 3,500 Yuan as monthly living allowance.

The college has a total staff of 93, with 30 professors and 28 associate professors. Among them, 19 are doctoral supervisors and 33 are master’s supervisors, 70 have doctorate degree, 51 have overseas experiences.

The Discipline of Pharmaceutical Sciences is entitled as the Important Support Discipline for National Biology First-Class Discipline, Key Discipline of Chongqing and the First-Class Cultivation Discipline of SWU.

The discipline of Pharmaceutical Sciences has become one of the most important supporting disciplines of national first-class biological disciplines, a key discipline of Chongqing and a first-class cultivating discipline of Southwest University. It has built a complete talent training system from undergraduate, master, doctor to post-doctoral.
The Research interests are focus on Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacology, as well as Research and development of Pharmaceutical industry.
4. International exchanges and cooperation
The college encourages teachers and students to exchange abroad, invites foreign experts to teach in SWU, holds international academic conferences, as well as recruits international undergraduates, postgraduate students, doctoral students, and post-doctor. The college also launched exchange programs with Khon Kaen University, Thailand and a joint training program of ‘3+1’ dual bachelor degree program in Biopharmaceuticals with Institute of Technology Carlow, Ireland.
Brief introduction of PhD Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences
Ø The program is aimed to cultivate PhD with solid experimental ability, systematic pharmaceutical knowledge and independent scientific research ability through study in academic lectures, lab experiments, as well as practice in pharmaceutical company.
Ø Through the study in this program, students can understand Chinese history and cultural characteristics, the development history and research status of Chinese Pharmaceutical industry, the frontier technology and development trend of traditional medicine research, the key core knowledge and skills of Pharmaceutical Sciences research and development, and scientific research thinking.
Ø Applicants should be interested in Pharmaceutical Sciences research, have certain basic theoretical knowledge and experimental skills in Pharmaceutical Sciences, be proficient in pharmaceutical English, and be willing to make contributions to pharmaceutical cooperation in the background of One Belt and One Road Initiative.

1.非中国籍公民，身心健康；
Non-Chinese citizens and be in good health both mentally and physically;
2.申请攻读博士学位者，年龄不超过40周岁，须具有硕士学位；
Be a master's degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for Ph.D. programs;
3.申请以英文为专业教学语言的攻读硕士、博士学位者，英文水须达到，硕士托福80或雅思6.0，博士托福85或 雅思6.5。
Have acquired the English proficiency of TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 for English-taught master and TOEFL 85 or IELTS 6.5 for English-taught Ph.D. programs.
4.学术成绩要求4分制GPA须在3分以上，百分制80分以上。
Cumulative GPA mustbe3.0 and above out of 4.0, grade score 80 and above out of 100.

3.经公证的最高学历证明。如申请人为在校学生，须提交本人就读学校出具的预计毕业证明或在学证明。
Notarized highest diploma. Prospective diploma winners must submit official proof of student status by their current school.
4.学习成绩单（自本科阶段起）。成绩单扫描件应包括本科、硕士（如有）、博士（如有）学习阶段，直至最近一学期的成绩。成绩单应由就读学校教务处、研究生院或有关学生管理部门开具并盖章。
Academic transcripts (from the undergraduate program onwards). Copies of academic records from first to last semester during the undergraduate,master(if any), and doctoral programs (if any) shall be provided. These transcripts shall be issued and sealed by the attending university’s academic affairs office, graduate school, or student management department.

A study plan proposal (focus of material review). A study plan (1000 words or more) in Chinese or English should be submitted. Study plan needs to be signed by the Chinese supervisor.

Recommendation letters. Two letters of recommendation (written only in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors shall be submitted. And one of them must be from SWU supervisor. These letters shall describe the applicant’s objectives of studying in China, comprehensive abilities, and evaluation of future growth, as well as the cooperation between the supervisors or the exchange between universities both in China and abroad (if any). 七、申请步骤/ Application Process:
第一步：网上申请/Ⅰ Application Online
1. 申请人须在“留学中国”网站 http://www.campuschina.org和“西南大学国际学生在线服务平台”网站https://swu.17gz.org同时提交申请。
Submit applications at "CSC Study in China" website http://www.campuschina.org and “SWU International Student Service system” website https://swu.17gz.org/.
2. 在“留学中国”网站填写信息时，留学项目种类选择“B类”，西南大学机构编号为10635。
When applying in "CSC Study in China" website, please select Program Category "Type B". The Agency Number of Southwest University is 10635.
3. 录入个人信息并上传材料至“补充材料”，直至点击【提交】完成申请。
Input personal information and upload documents to “Supporting Documents” as requested, then click “Submit” to complete the application.
第二步：考试安排/Ⅱ Exam Arrangement
申请人资料审核通过后，培养单位会通过邮件通知申请人进行笔试和面试。
After your application information is approved, Colleges (Faculties) will notify you by email about the exam and interview.

第三步：录取与入学/Ⅲ Admission
申请人可在“中国政府奖学金留学管理信息系统”查询录取结果。被录取后，学生须严格按照学校规定的时间报到注册。报到时将核验最高学历证书及成绩单原件、《外国人体格检查表》、无犯罪证明、语言水平证明原件等申请材。
Check the admission results in the "Chinese Government Scholarship Study Abroad Management Information System". If you are admitted, you shall register at Southwest University within stipulated time. The original highest academic certificate and transcripts, the Foreigner's Physical Examination Form, Non-criminal Record and the original language proficiency certificate will be verified at the time of registration.
注：境外学生入校报到事宜将根据中国入境政策另行通知。
